As previously shared, the AIBC has been working on the online Register to meet Professional Governance Act requirements, and to implement general improvements. Discipline records of AIBC registrants are now available and displayed on the Register, and an improved search functionality has also been launched.
Discipline Record Now Available on AIBC Register
Admissions and determinations that a registrant has committed a discipline violation or professional misconduct, conduct unbecoming a registrant, incompetent performance of duties, or a breach of the PGA, its regulations, or the AIBC Bylaws, are now published on the online Register.
This means along with the general information already available, the online Register displays an explanatory notation and/or a link to a registrant’s discipline record, including notice of any cancellation or suspension related to the discipline record. The discipline record will remain on the Register for the duration of the registrant’s registration with the AIBC, and for no less than 10 years after the registrant ceases to be registered.
In addition, any limitations or conditions on a registrant’s regulated practice or registration will also be shown on the AIBC Register.
Launch of Improved Search Functionality and Next Steps
The AIBC Register now also features improved search functionality, to make it easier to find and search for AIBC registrants. Users will follow the same steps to conduct a search, but will see improved and expanded search results.
Additional regulatory information will be made available on the AIBC Register in the coming months, such as a registrant’s registration history. This will include a registrant’s former registration category, date of registration in the former category, and an explanatory notation of the reason for cancellation of registration in the former category.
