2025 Editions of the National Model Codes Now Available

February 4, 2026

The Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes (CBHCC) has released the 2025 editions of the National Model Codes – the culmination of a code cycle that included extensive input from expert volunteers, the construction sector, interested organizations, and the public.

The 2025 Codes advance harmonization, broaden the range of compliance options for users, integrate future-oriented climate data to ensure buildings are better prepared for changing environmental conditions, provide a tiered framework for reducing the climate impact of homes and buildings, and strengthen accessibility in homes and buildings for Canadians.

A summary of key changes is available on the CBHCC website.

Electronic versions of the National Model Codes are available for free through the NRC Publications Archive. Hard copies of code documents are available for purchase through the NRC Virtual Store.

The CBHCC will be providing information on key changes on its LinkedIn page – follow along for more information and updates.

For information about code changes, provisions or details about the National Model Codes development system, please contact the CBHCC.
