This is a reminder that Intern Architects AIBC are CES Participants in the AIBC’s mandatory Continuing Education System (CES). This means that Intern Architects are required to complete their CES requirements for the 2024-2026 Reporting Period by the June 30, 2026 deadline.
Below is important and helpful information for Intern Architects regarding the CES:
- Review progress and confirm CES requirements in the Registrant Portal
Login to the Registrant Portal and review your CES transcript and individual requirements. Your transcript provides a summary of all learning activities reported for the 2024–2026 reporting period and shows your total LUs so far. Depending on when you registered as an Intern Architect AIBC, your CES requirements may vary and can be confirmed in the Registrant Portal.
- Study time for the Oral Exam or ExAC is eligible for LUs
Time spent studying for the Oral Exam or ExAC can be self-reported under “Examination – Independent Study” for Non-Core LUs. One hour of study is equal to one LU. When reporting, include detailed learning objectives about the material studied.
- Indigenous Peoples Learning Requirement
A minimum of two Core LUs related to knowledge on Indigenous history, Truth and Reconciliation, and/or engagement (‘Indigenous Peoples Learning’) must be earned and reported each reporting period. To qualify as Core, this learning must be a structured activity. More information about this requirement is available on our website.
- If you get registered as an Architect mid-way through the reporting period, your CES requirements do not
Any LUs earned as an Intern Architect AIBC will automatically transfer to your Architect AIBC record, and you will continue within the same reporting period.
