The AIBC PD Day 2027 Call for submissions is now open!
The Institute invites submissions from those interested in speaking, participating in panel discussions, or facilitating workshops at AIBC PD Day 2027. The virtual event is taking place online on May 19, 2027, and brings together architectural professionals from across the province and beyond to learn about topics that are shaping and influencing today’s professional practice.
The deadline to submit a presentation proposal is October 30, 2026.
PD Day 2027 Programming
A variety of presentation formats are sought, including lectures, panel discussions and workshops. The AIBC’s Conference Professional Development Advisory Group is specifically interested in presentations related to the following:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Tool, collaborator, or liability? How firms are using AI and its impact on design, project delivery, and innovation.
- Community & Equity: Building community and social equality through architecture.
- Policy & Urban Development: Who gets to shape our cities? The role of policy in shaping architecture and the built environment.
- The Business of Architecture: The ins and outs of running an architecture practice, including new and evolving practice models.
- Climate & Sustainability: How emerging technologies, materials, and design approaches are helping reduce carbon and responding to a changing climate.
- Indigenous Peoples Learning: Indigenous-led architecture and reconciliation in practice. Learning from Indigenous knowledge, culture and design, as well as engaging with Indigenous groups.
- Resourcefulness: Doing more with less. Creating meaningful impact through resourceful design and small budgets.
- Innovation & Practice: How regulations, codes, circularity, nature-integration, prefabrication, and new approaches can drive innovation.
- Architectural Case Studies: Showcasing projects that embody the above topics.

Submit a Presentation Proposal by October 30
The deadline to submit a presentation proposal for AIBC PD Day 2027 is October 30, 2026. Those who are interested in applying are encouraged to review the full Call for Submissions (PDF).
