Heritage BC is hosting a free webinar on September 21: St. Andrew’s on the Square Renovation Project 2024 – 2026.
The webinar will discuss how the City of Kamloops restored a heritage landmark – St. Andrew’s on the Square, which is the oldest public building in Kamloops. Participants will hear about the approach to conservation and the work involved in bringing this historic place back to life. After sustaining significant fire, smoke, and water damage in May 2024, the building underwent a $1.1 million restoration to return it to its pre-fire condition while enhancing accessibility, functionality, and heritage features.
Presenters:
- Julia Cyr, Kamloops Museum and Archives Supervisor, City of Kamloops
- Andrew Yarmie, Professor of History (retired), Thompson Rivers University
- Vedran Škopac, Principal, Reimagine Architects Ltd.
