On September 18, the Government of British Columbia announced that the expansion of PST to professionals services, including architectural services, is paused. The introduction was scheduled to take place on October 1, 2026.
This update means that Registrants do not need to collect and remit PST.
The provincial government is advising that if you have already registered for a PST account, you should close it using eTaxBC or by calling 1.877.388.4440. More information can be found in the eTaxBC Help Guide.
Registrants should be aware that the recent update to AIBC 8C is unaffected by the postponement of PST. All new contracts should be using the September 2026 version, as the prior version from June 2021 has been retired and should no longer be used.
