The Discipline Notice publishes findings and admissions of Professional Misconduct, Conduct Unbecoming a Registrant, Incompetent performance of duties, or a breach of the Professional Governance Act (PGA), its regulations, or Bylaws by AIBC Registrants.
As the regulator of the architectural profession in British Columbia, the AIBC establishes, monitors, and enforces standards of ethical and professional conduct for all AIBC Registrants: Architects, Architectural Firms, Intern Architects, Architectural Technologists, Retired Architects, and Temporary Licensees (Architects). All Discipline Violations are Published in accordance with the requirements under AIBC Bylaw heading 8.0 Public Disclosure.
AIBC Discipline Decision
Mohammed-Saeed Jhatam Former Registrant made admissions, by way of a consent order, that he breached:
- Professional Standards 5.1 and 5.6 in the AIBC Bylaws Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct by providing architectural services to a Client without having an executed Client-Architect Contract in place; by failing to provide written notification to the Client as to whether professional liability insurance was in place in relation to the architectural services to be provided and that the certificate of insurance for the professional liability insurance policy was available for review by the Client upon request or had been provided; and
- Professional Standard 6.1 in the AIBC Bylaws Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct by failing to provide Direct Supervision of non-Architects providing architectural services for the Project.
The facts and terms of this consent order were acknowledged and agreed to by Mohammed-Saeed Jhatam Former Registrant and the AIBC Investigation Committee on October 7, 2026.
