Online Payments Now Accepted in AIBC Registrant Portal; Annual Fee Billing Update

October 30, 2026

The AIBC Registrant Portal now allows Registrants to view and pay outstanding invoices online by credit card. Registrants are encouraged to use this payment method for their outstanding fees going forward.

How to Pay an Invoice in the Registrant Portal

  1. Log in to the AIBC Registrant Portal.
  2. Go to My Accounts and click Invoices beside the outstanding account balance.
  3. Under Select to Pay, choose the invoice you wish to pay.
  4. Enter your payment information and click Pay.

Payment confirmation will be sent to the email address on file, and an official receipt will be available under My Accounts > Payment History within 2–5 business days. Please note that if your invoice is greater than $2,000, you must pay via alternative payment methods. Please e-mail finance@aibc.ca for the banking information required to send payment.

2027 Annual Fee Billing

2027 Annual Renewal invoices will be available to Registrants starting the end of November, into early December. Registrants will be notified when their invoice is ready, but please note invoices will not be emailed directly. To view invoices, Registrants must log into their individual profile in the Registrant Portal. Payments can be made in the Portal following the instructions above. Other alternative payment methods, including e-transfer and by mail, still remain available.

In preparation for invoicing, Registrants are being asked to review and update their information in the Registrant Portal. Registrants need to ensure the following is accurate:

  • Basic personal contact details, including primary phone number, cell phone and email.
  • Current employment contact details, including work phone number and email.
  • Administrative email (to receive regulatory notices including annual renewals)

Status Changes and Voluntary Cancellation of Registration (Resignation)

Registrants in Good Standing who submit an application to voluntarily cancel their registration (resign) should use the appropriate Form (based on Registrant category), all of which can be found on the AIBC website. If you wish to change registration status or resign, you will need to submit the application Form well in advance of the February 1 deadline and allow sufficient time for all required material to be received by the AIBC in order avoid paying the 2027 Annual Renewal fee. For example, Architects who are resigning must return their seals and Firm Registrants that hold Certificates of Practice (CoP) must return their CoP, among other requirements. Please note that the resignation date is confirmed by AIBC staff and will correspond with the date that all the required material is received.

Have a Question?

If you have questions about the new payment functionality in the Registrant Portal, please email registration@aibc.ca. For any questions about the Annual Renewal cycle, please visit the AIBC Annual Renewal webpage or email accounts@aibc.ca.
