Under the Architects Act, the AIBC has authority to make bylaws for the regulation of the Institute, architects, member firms, licensees and associates. These bylaws must be approved by a special majority vote of architects and are reviewed by the provincial government before they become effective.
The AIBC’s bylaws address a variety of Institute governance matters, architectural firm requirements and, importantly, competency, professional and ethical standards of the profession.
