Join the AIBC Conference PD Committee

December 2, 2020

The AIBC is seeking creative and ambitious members to participate on the Conference Professional Development (PD) Committee. This volunteer position plays a significant role in the planning of the educational content for AIBC Confab and Conference. It is a great opportunity for registrants who are actively involved in the architectural community and engaged with the latest happenings in the profession.

AIBC Confab and Conference bring members of the architectural and design community together to learn about industry trends, technological advances and best practices. These professional development events are also a chance to network, socialize, and recognize the innovative, impactful work of practitioners and theorists in the field of architecture. Conference and Confab alternate each year and take place in early May.

The AIBC is currently in the midst of planning Confab 2021, which will be a completely virtual event, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

What to Expect as a Conference PD Committee Volunteer

Committee meetings are held every two weeks on Tuesdays, from 12–2 p.m. (currently via Zoom). Committee members assist with PD stream planning, proposal reviews, speaker selection and recruitment and development of session descriptions for conference promotions.

Committee members are also eligible to receive Non-core Learning Units (LU) for their service.

Apply Today!

This is a great way to help guide, inspire and influence the PD programming for AIBC Confab and Conference while also having the opportunity to professionally network with emerging and registered architects.

Interested candidates are encouraged to email volunteers@aibc.ca with a CV and short statement of interest (300 words or less) describing why you are a good fit for this committee and how your knowledge or experience will contribute to a successful event.
