All CES Participants (Architects AIBC, Architectural Technologists AIBC and Intern Architects AIBC) are reminded that the next mandatory CES reporting period deadline is June 30, 2024. CES Participants have just under one year to earn and report a total of 36 Learning Units (LUs), of which at least 16 LUs must be Core, including two dedicated towards Indigenous Peoples Learning (new requirement – more detail below). All requirements for CES Participants are outlined in the AIBC Bylaws, specifically Section 5: Professional Practice and Services and Schedule P: Board Rules for Continuing Education System.

Beginning this reporting period, within the minimum 16 Core LUs, two Core LUs must be related to knowledge on Indigenous history, Truth and Reconciliation, and/or engagement (‘Indigenous Peoples Learning’). Resources are available to assist CES Participants understand and meet this new requirement, including a Frequently Asked Questions PDF and Indigenous Peoples Learning Resources document. CES Participants can also find more information about this requirement in Schedule P: Board Rules for Continuing Education System of the AIBC Bylaws.

The AIBC encourages CES Participants to review how many LUs they have earned for the current reporting period. To access your transcript, log into your AIBC Registrant Portal and select “Continuing Education System” from the left-hand side menu, and then select “Transcript”.
