Through the AIBC’s Recognized Educational Provider (REP) Program, the Institute works with professional organizations, educational institutions, architectural firms, commercial enterprises, and individual professionals to provide a variety of external professional development opportunities for CES Participants (Architects AIBC, Architectural Technologists AIBC and Intern Architects AIBC).
With the next mandatory CES reporting period deadline of June 30, 2026, approaching, REP Program events are a helpful resource to support CES Participants in completing their CES requirements.
Benefits of Attending REP Events
- REP Events are pre-approved for Learning Units. AIBC reviews REP events in advance and assigns the amount of LUs, as well as their classification (Core or Non-Core).
- No self-reporting necessary. CES Participants are not required to self-report educational activities completed within the REP Program as they have already been reviewed and approved. CES Participants provide their AIBC ID when attending an REP event and attendance the AIBC records the LUs.
- Flexibility. The REP Program consists of in-person and online sessions, which are offered regularly throughout the year.
- REP Events are exempt from the CES Audit. CES Participate are not required to submit back-up documentation for REP events, if selected to participate in a CES Audit.
Which Organizations are Part of the REP Program?
There are over 175 REPs in the program. A comprehensive list of all current Recognized Educational Providers can be found on the AIBC website.
Where can I Find REP events?
A monthly overview of REP events are listed in our Connected newsletter, under the ‘Recognized Educational Provider Events’ section. They are also all included on the AIBC website in the Events Calendar, where you can view them using the ‘Recognized Educational Prover (REP) Activities’ filter.
AIBC Registrants and the REP Program
AIBC-registered Firms and Individual Registrants hosting PD offerings or Lunch and Learns are encouraged to join the REP Program. Further information on the Program, including how to apply, can be found in the Recognized Educational Provider (REP) Program Guidelines.
