The AIBC 101st Annual Meeting and 2020 Conference will be proceeding as planned from May 4–6. As of now, the B.C. Ministry of Health is not advising that mass gatherings of people be cancelled due to COVID-19.
The health, safety and well-being of conference delegates is of utmost importance. The AIBC understands the concern surrounding COVID-19 and that it is an evolving situation. We will continue to monitor the potential health risks, and follow the guidance and updates provided by the appropriate health advisory organizations. At this time, the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as “low for Canada”.
The AIBC continues to be in communication with the Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) regarding developments surrounding the venue and COVID-19. VCC has taken additional precautionary measures to enhance the cleanliness and sanitization throughout the facility. To view all of the measures taken by VCC to address concerns regarding Coronavirus, as well as how you can help create a safe and healthy environment while at the Convention Centre, please visit their website.
