Proposed Introduction of Intern Architects AIBC to Continuing Education System
On January 14, 2019, AIBC Council approved, in principle, revised Council Rules 5: Continuing Education System (CES) and revised Council Rules 6: Designation and Admission Qualifications for AIBC Associates. The proposed revisions outline several enhancements and changes to the Continuing Education System (CES), including the introduction of Intern Architects AIBC to the CES program as of July 1, 2020. Supported by members and honorary members in the most recent electronic vote, the Council and Institute Governance Bylaws have successfully passed the provincial government’s “disallowance” period and are now in effect. Read more

President’s Message – Announcing the New 2019–2023 AIBC Strategic Plan
On behalf of AIBC Council and staff, it is my pleasure to share the Architectural Institute of British Columbia’s 2019–2023 Strategic Plan. Beginning in late 2017, the plan took more than a year to create. It was a multi-stage process that consisted of an environmental scan, calls for registrant and stakeholder feedback, facilitated sessions, discussions amongst AIBC Council and staff, as well as thorough editing, iterating and refining. Participate in the Continuing Education System Survey by March 1, 2019
Thank you for a successful 2016–2018 Continuing Education System (CES) reporting period! The Professional Services department is launching a new initiative to conduct an annual CES Survey. This initiative is a part of the ongoing work to ensure that the professional development opportunities offered at and through the AIBC continue to increase the competency, acumen, and resiliency of our registrants. 2019 Oral Review Dates Announced
The 2019 Oral Review schedule is now available for Intern Architects AIBC and Broadly Experienced Applicant (BEA) candidates. Those interested in taking the Oral Review are required to submit an application form between the specified registration period for each round. Following the application close date, AIBC staff will contact you to confirm your eligibility and assigned Oral Review date. Read more
