The 2018 Annual Firm Information Update has officially begun. This important regulatory requirement keeps firm information current, and helps maintain the integrity of the AIBC Register. The online directory of architectural firms, which is available to the public, is based on the AIBC Register. The information collected during the information update is also used to issue accurate annual fee invoices. Read more

Bylaw Review: Council and Institute Governance Bylaws
Since 2011, the AIBC has been engaged in a comprehensive bylaw review process to address both substantive bylaw subject matter areas and more routine amendments. The Bylaw Review Committee (BRC), supported by AIBC Council, is now consulting with members on a suite of bylaws related to Council and Institute Governance. Read more

September 2018 PayPal Scam
On September 12, 2018, it was brought to our attention that a scam email which appears to be from PayPal was in circulation. The spoof email states that the AIBC was sent $367.50 from the recipient’s account. This is a scam. Read more
Joint AIBC/EGBC Professional Practice Guidelines – Whole Building Energy Modelling Services Now Available
On August 15, 2018, the joint Architectural Institute of British Columbia and Engineers and Geoscientists BC Professional Practice Guidelines – Whole Building Energy Modelling Services were published by the two associations. They were developed with funding and support from BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver and BC Housing. Read more
Administrative Bylaws 2018 Now in Effect
Supported by members and honorary members in the most recent electronic vote, the AIBC’s Administrative Bylaws 2018 have successfully passed the provincial government’s “disallowance” period and are now in effect. Read more
