BC Energy Step Code Part 9 Compliance Reports Update
The BC Energy Compliance Reports (Performance Paths for Part 9 Buildings) provide a standardized report template for Part 9 buildings complying with Subsection 9.36.5. or 9.36.6 of the BC Building Code. An updated version of the reports, for use with BC Building Code 2018, is now available. Read more
Online BC Building Codes Now Available at No Charge
The provincial government has announced that effective August 14, 2019, online versions of the BC Building, Plumbing and Fire Codes are available free of charge. Read more
Updated Call for feedback – Changes to the British Columbia Building Code 2018
There are now further proposed changes to the BC Code. Newly developed proposals for changes to carbon monoxide detectors and alarms, as well as roof-top enclosures and roof-top occupancy requirements are now available on their website for review and feedback. Please note this is entirely new code content not included in the invitation to the public review sent in June 2019. Read more

NRC Offers Free Electronic Access to Codes
As of April 2019, the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is offering free access to the downloadable and electronic formats of the National Building Code, the National Fire Code, the National Plumbing Code, and the National Energy Code for Buildings, as well as the provincial codes published by the NRC.
