Notification Period | Council Rules 4: Council Elections

November 7, 2019

On November 5, 2019, AIBC Council approved, in principle, Council Rules 4: Council Elections. As part of the Council and Institute Governance Bylaw initiative, several bylaws were amalgamated into a single bylaw – Bylaw 22.0: Election Procedures (PDF). The amended Bylaw 22.0 authorizes the detailed mail ballot and dispute resolution processes to be outlined in Council Rules rather than in bylaws. As such, several revisions have been proposed for Council Rules 4: Council Elections.  Read more

New, Earlier Opening Date for the 2020/21 AIBC Council Call for Nominations

November 6, 2019

The Call for Nominations as part of the 2020 Council Election will open on December 10, 2019. Registrants will notice the call is opening earlier than previous years. This was introduced to provide members with ample time to consider submitting a nomination to serve on the 2020/21 AIBC Council. In addition, beginning the Call for Nominations earlier supports the work of the Council Recruitment Task Force.  Read more

AIBC Practice Notes Now AIBC Practice Guidelines

The AIBC is changing the name of the “Practice Notes” to “Practice Guidelines”. The new title is more aligned with industry standards and naming conventions of other regulators. While the name is now different, the intention of the material remains the same – to provide guidance on specific architectural practice topics.  Read more

The AIBC’s Recognized Educational Provider (REP) Program

October 29, 2019

The deadline for the current CES reporting cycle is June 30, 2020 – that means there are only eight months left to earn and report 36 Learning Units! The AIBC provides a variety of resources and opportunities to help ensure CES Participants are able to fulfill their obligations each and every reporting period, including the Recognized Educational Provider (REP) program. This article will provide an overview of the REP program, and how it can help CES Participants meet their learning requirements.  Read more
