Applications for the Michael A. Ernest AIBC Intern Architect Bursary are being accepted from March 15 to April 16, 2018. This bursary, which is a $1,000 credit at the AIBC, is awarded to an Intern Architect AIBC who is in good standing, and has demonstrated the financial need and intention to become a registered Architect AIBC. he first edition of CSA Z5000-18 Building Commissioning for Energy Using Systems is now available for purchase. This new standard provides a comprehensive, integrated, consistent, and managed process to monitor building energy and domestic water use through the commissioning of the monitoring system. Commissioning buildings aims to optimize energy-use and thereby reduce operating costs, and is important to the post-design and post-occupancy process. Read more

Bylaw Review: Proposed Suite of Administrative Bylaws 2018
Since 2011, the AIBC has been engaged in a comprehensive bylaw review process to address both substantive bylaw subject matter areas and more routine amendments. The Bylaw Review Committee (BRC), supported by AIBC Council, is now consulting with members on a suite of ‘administrative’ bylaws. Read more
Member Advisory – New BC Building Code 2012 Letters of Assurance (Schedules B and C-A)
This joint member advisory is a follow-up to the advisory issued on May 24, 2017 regarding Ministerial Order M158. This new advisory concerns Ministerial Order M013 and the Buildings and Safety Standards Branch (BSSB) Information Bulletin No. B18-01. This Ministerial Order revises the Letters of Assurance in Part 2 of the 2012 BC Building Code. Read more
