Former Architects AIBC may apply to become Retired Architects AIBC immediately after submitting their resignation as an architect. To proceed with your retirement from the AIBC please complete the Resignation, Retirement Request – Architect AIBC (PDF) and email it to the Registration and Licensing Department at registration@aibc.ca.
Fees Due upon Application to Become a Retired Architect AIBC
When submitting an application you must pay a prorated annual fee, which is dependent on the date your application is submitted. However, if you have already paid the annual renewal fee as an Architect AIBC and resigned your registration and subsequently applied to become a Retired Architect, a portion is refunded against this new lower annual fee for Retired Architects. You may either be due a refund or owe a small amount. Use the following table to determine your total refund or fees due:
